Get ready for 2018’s changes to data protection laws
If you want peace, prepare for war …was the advice of Roman Vegetius before the fall of the Roman Empire. So too is this the advice of Helen Iles, Senior Associate and Head of Training at Hugh James regarding new rules set to hit all UK businesses in May 2018 in the form of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR.”)
Amending current data protection rules, the GDPR has the potential to further muddy the already-murky waters of data management for organisations unless they are fully prepared for its arrival and ready to deal with its impact. Whilst some data management requirements stay the same, the GDPR requires other things to be done differently, and other duties are imposed for the very first time.
Attend this session to ensure your organisation is forewarned and forearmed, and in a position to defend itself against the new maximum 20 million Euro fine.
