Bridgend micro-brewery drives growth through social media

Nine months on from opening its doors Bang-On Brewery has increased production by more than a third to meet demand. The company has effectively used social media to increase brand awareness and drive demand, breaking even on trading costs after just four months.

“The use of social media has been invaluable to us in terms of raising awareness of Bang-On Brewery and the beers that we produce. Through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other forms of social media, we have been able to get our messages across very quickly. An example being when we produced a new wheat beer. Within 20 minutes of posting a picture and introducing the new beer, the first customers had arrived to try some.”

The company is run by businessman Neil Randle and classically trained chef Craig Jackson. It produces unique artisan beers, all made with totally natural ingredients, which include its core range and ‘get them before they’re gone!’ limited one-off editions. Thirsty lovers of real-ale and craft beer can stop off at the micro pub and shop next door to enjoy a drink and ‘try before they buy’.

Bang-On Brewery is one of 110 local businesses to have benefitted from free digital business support via Superfast Business Wales. The successful brewery is now looking to further strengthen its online presence to support its growth plans.
