Businesses invited to complete National Digital Maturity Survey 2017/18
Cardiff University would like to invite small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to take part in the research project on the benefits associated with business adoption of broadband enabled technologies. The purpose of the research is to identify how businesses are using digital technologies to improve their competitiveness.
By completing the survey SMEs will help us build a picture of the emerging digital economy in Wales, and inform the work of Welsh Government and partners in supporting its development.
Digital technology today plays a central role in both business and society. This is fundamentally affecting the way in which businesses are operating, and opening up the potential for improved business processes, new products and services, and accessing new markets overseas.
Due to the growing technology, Wales is seeing an increasing number of businesses accessing broadband and associated digital technologies such as cloud computing, videoconferencing etc. Despite this, we know surprisingly little about how businesses use these technologies, and how it affects the wider Welsh economy. More investigation into this can help produce evidence which is needed to both support the roll-out of broadband infrastructure, and to help businesses maximise the benefits associated with its use.
