Inspiring the workforce of the future
Inspire 2 Work is a funded project which has been designed to provide support for young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Covering Bridgend County Borough and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), the project aims to overcome the barriers vulnerable young people face to gaining employment.
Barriers can include emotional, health and social issues, lack of employment skills, academic ability, qualifications and/or experience, disabilities and economic issues.
Inspire 2 Work can support young people on a one to one and/or group basis to help them to develop a range of transferable skills, allowing them to be more experienced, flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing labour market.
The young people will be further supported through a Work Experience Co-ordinator, an Employer Liaison Officer and a Basic Skills Officer to address any gaps in “work ready skills” including punctuality, appropriate behaviour and advice on how to gain experience. The focus of the work will be to provide a mechanism that will engage participants who are NEET, and support them through suitable volunteering, work placements, interview techniques, work trials and gain national qualifications along the way.
The project is seeking to develop strong relationships with a range of organisations and employers, allowing for close working links but also an opportunity to find suitable and relevant work experience placements for young people aged 16-24.
Working with local employers, the project seeks to develop a structured plan of work experience opportunities, enabling young people to develop new skills, as well build on their existing strengths. These placements would be supported from start to finish by the Work Experience Co-ordinator who would be a link with both the participants and the employer.
We would be very interested in creating this opportunity with your business.
If you would like to meet to discuss these opportunities further, we would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and provide you with further information and opportunities of the project.
