Access to Work

Access to Work is a UK Government scheme delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) through its Job Centre Plus which gives practical advice and support to disabled people, whether they are working, self-employed or looking for employment.

Access to Work is provided where someone needs support or adaptations beyond the reasonable adjustments which an employer is legally obliged to provide under the Equality Act.

An Access to Work grant can help pay for practical support if you have a disability, health or mental health condition and help you:

·         start work

·         stay in work

·         move into self-employment or start up a business

Access to Work is available in Wales, Scotland and England. To be eligible you must be 16 or over or either; about to start a job or work trail, in a paid job or self-employed.

Access to Work funding agreements can cover up to three years. Reviews normally take place annually to assess if continued or further funding is needed.

For further information please visit the GOV.UK website.

There is also a separate Access to Work Mental Health Support Service please visit the Remploy website for further information.
